APM (Association for Project Management) Accreditated Project Management Training and Qualification Provider

Ladymead provides training and consultancy services that enable corporate clients and individuals to develop their skills and capabilities to successfully adapt in a rapidly changing world. We are one of the UK’s most experienced specialist training providers in project management and related topics.

From a strong background in complex construction and engineering projects we now also support those involved in the design, procurement, and project management across a wide range of sectors. Please see just two case study examples below to understand the variety of professions that have attended APM Courses.

A Large Variety of Business Areas on one APM Course

Ladymead ran an interactive online APM Project Management Qualification Course which simultaneously included participants from the Property and Construction Industry, a Makeup/Cosmetics company, the Rugby League Management, Living Satellites (Aerospace), and Financial IT business areas.

Whatever the business background and arena, the APM PMQ was relevant to personal development of those successful individuals in their own fields of expertise.

Building and Civil Engineering Contractor

The programme was delivered on a flexible modular basis and combined client bespoke topics concluded with the PMQ Project Management Qualification. This gave the client the twin benefits of satisfying their own specific training agenda and providing both the company and their staff with an accredited industry recognised qualification. These courses formed the key part of a training package that earned national recognition with prestigious awards from two leading professional journals.

The programme covers the following elements:
Project Planning, Environmental and Waste Management, Commercial and Contract Management, Law for Project Managers, Supply Chain Management, Managing People, Managing Design, Commercial Risk Management, Best Practice, APM Project Management Qualification (PMQ)

We are a fully accredited training provider for the APM and a chartered consultancy with the CIOB. Our course feedback is excellent and our examination pass rates are consistently amongst the best in the country.

All our open public courses are run via our tutor-led interactive online workshops. The exam is also taken online.

We can provide face-to-face courses at selected venues, however, our online workshops provide similar interactive engagement, functionality and enjoyment. They also have much lower costs and a much lower carbon footprint. Online courses eliminate the need for delegates to incur travel, venue, and overnight accommodation costs.

    Ladymead Consultancy Services

We offer a wide range of consultancy services based on over 30 years of experience across multiple sectors.

    Project Management

If any of the following sound familiar, you may need direct ‘hands-on’ assistance to manage your projects successfully:

The nature of the project is outside your organisation’s normal field of work, there has been an unexpected departure of a key member of staff, there is a shortage of suitable expertise in-house, a valued member of staff needs to free up some of their time… and many other scenarios.

    Project Planning

The need to complete projects on time is a fundamental requirement not only for the client (who needs the facility available to meet urgent commercial, operational, or public sector commitments) but also for contractors, consultants, and others in the supply chain whose costs and contractual liabilities are tied in with the project’s timely completion. Ladymead provides project-planning services covering all stages of the project life cycle.

    Disputes and Adjudication

Since its introduction in 1998, Adjudication has become a popular and successful method of resolving disputes, especially within the construction industries. Adjudication provides disputing parties with robust and legally enforceable decisions in a quick and low-cost manner. The costs involved are significantly lower in comparison to the use of arbitration or litigation techniques.

Ladymead has a wealth of current experience in the field of Adjudication.

    Independent Project Audit

Just as we all accept the need for cars to have an MOT and people to have regular health checks, there is a similar need for projects to undergo independent checks to ensure the project’s objectives are realistic and that the people, processes, and resources used are appropriate and capable of delivering these objectives. Ladymead can undertake independent project audits at specific points during the project’s life, such as prior to spending a large sum of money or if problems arise.

    Independent Project Monitoring

A vital part in the effective management of projects is getting an accurate understanding of how the project is progressing. If you don’t monitor how the project is going you will be unable to deal expeditiously with contractual disputes and you might find yourself firefighting to limit damage. An accurate progress report enables you to compare what is happening with what you had planned. Whilst those directly involved with the project will have a detailed knowledge of the work, they often find it difficult to ‘see the wood from the trees’…

    Risk Management

All projects and business developments will contain elements that are inherently risky. A project manager must be able to predict and manage risks. In a highly competitive market, there is little room for error. The effective management of risk factors is fundamental to the success of any project. Following a series of damaging commercial disasters, the London Stock Exchange now requires all listed companies to put in place a robust and auditable risk management process. This can be achieved by coordinating appropriate parts of a company and their supply chains.

    Value Management and Engineering

Value management and engineering are related disciplines for getting better value for money out of your investment in projects. Using both techniques can contribute to the elimination of waste and reduce your overall costs.

Value management is used to define what the value of meeting a perceived need will be to a company. Normally taking place at the start of a project, it deals with establishing a clear consensus about project objectives and how to achieve them.

    Supply Chain Management

Did you know up to 85% of a project’s value can be spent on your supply chain? A small saving on this figure can actually have a tremendous impact on your profit margins. By using and integrating supply chain concepts early on in the design stage of your project, you can gain economic and competitive advantage throughout the entire project life cycle.
